Oak Hills Realty opened for business as Oak Hills Properties in 1996. Broker Forrest Powles started with a small office on Caliente Rd., about half a mile from the current location. Business was booming and home buyers quickly learned that Oak Hills Properties was the place to go for all of their real estate needs.
Quickly outgrowing the smaller office, Forrest built the current building at 6550 Caliente Rd, Oak Hills and moved on Valentine's Day 2007. "We needed more desk space for the growing team of Realtors," Forrest said. "We also needed extra rooms to better serve our clients." The kitchen, patio, storage areas and beautiful mountain views were bonuses too.
In 2014, Forrest modified the name of the brokerage to Oak Hills Realty. He sees a bright future for the real estate industry in the High Desert and envisions that the continued growth of business may necessitate an expansion at the current location.
The current roster at Oak Hills Realty includes 12 experienced, licensed agents who commit themselves on to the marketing of existing homes and raw land parcels in the 30+square mile area of Oak Hills and the surrounding area.
Two Realtors just joined the Oak Hills team in the last few months, and more applications are expected in the near future. In addition, Oak Hills Realty employs a team of two assistants, each with over 15 years of real estate experience, to provide administrative support services 7 days a week.
This year marks the 21st year of Oak Hills Realty providing real estate service to Oak Hills and the surrounding communities. In addition to marketing and selling homes, Oak Hills Realty handles lot and acreage sales as well.
